How I Met Your Mother
8 p.m., Channel 4

The bad news: Barney loses his mojo. (Perhaps it was the slap.) The good news: Heidi Klum shows up to rub it in.

Walking With Cavemen
8 p.m. Discovery

The bad news: The actors in this documentary might remind you of ABC's flailing sitcom. The good news: Alec Baldwin hosts.

BABY TALK
Notes from the Underbelly
9:30 p.m., Channel 5

This show about hipsters confronting parenthood ought to be funnier than it is - unless it proves that hipsters aren't actually funny. In the second-season premiere, Lauren and Andrew argue over whether to find out the baby's sex, while Julie (left, Melanie Paxson) and Eric hire a mean French nanny.

Dancing With the Stars
8 p.m., Channel 5

The bad news: Mel B. might wear another pantsuit. The good news: Marie Osmond might wear one, too!

Heroes
9 p.m., Channel 7

The bad news: Maya is back. The good news: So is HRG.

Journeyman
10 p.m., Channel 7

The bad news: The evil kidnapper wants revenge. The good news: Dan travels to 1983, so maybe we can hear some Culture Club.

ON DEMAND
There's Something About Mary
Comcast

Lowbrow gross-out humor from bad-taste kings Peter and Bobby Farrelly (the recent "Heartbreak Kid" remake). But you won't be able to keep from laughing, especially at Matt Dillon's sleazy gumshoe hired by smitten but consummately hapless Ben Stiller to track down radiant Cameron Diaz (above), a magnet for obsessives. There's scarcely a bodily function, especially the unseemly ones, that doesn't make the final cut. (R; runs on MAX through Nov. 28)
