There's a whole mess of New Year's Eve stuff on tonight, but this one will probably be the strangest. MTV's "bisexual" reality-show star (left) will host the party from MTV's Times Square studios, alongside gossip blogger Perez Hilton. Music will be provided by Mary J. Blige, Kid Rock, Good Charlotte, and Paramore.

A documentary about the forgotten New Wave singer/performance artist/baroque Martian oddity Klaus Nomi (above), whose stage act consisted of singing intensely beautiful pop-opera while dressed as an alien interloper. Andrew Horn's fine film uses interviews and wonderful video footage from the vault to recreate downtown Manhattan at the dawn of the 1980s. This ain't no Mudd Club, but it's as close as we're going to get. (Unrated; runs through Feb. 19) - Ty Burr![]()
