Using both interviews with experts and visual effects, the two-hour special gives us a planet where abandoned skyscrapers have become "vertical ecosystems" complete with birds, rodents and plant life.

Fresh, funny, and funky, Alex Cox's darkly humorous portrait of LA is a mix of manic car repossessors, New Wave sci-fi, mindless consumerism, and punk alienation.
