There was a point, early in its 1997-2003 run, when "Just Shoot Me" was hot, and NBC scheduled it on Thursday nights as its next big sitcom. One of the breakout characters, along with David Spade's Finch, was Wendie Malick's Nina Van Horn (left), the hard-partying former model. This episode is a faux episode of "Biography" that looks at the life and times of Nina with guest spots by Buddy Hackett, Cybill Shepherd, Vanna White, and Cheryl Tiegs.

It's like "The Illusionist" crossed with a really hard Sudoku. Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale (above) play Victorian-era magicians with a lifelong rivalry; director Christopher Nolan ("Memento," "Batman Begins") piles up the double-crosses and illusions until you may not know who you are anymore. It's fun but a little exhausting, and in the end it cheats a bit. With Scarlett Johansson (wasted) and Michael Caine (not). (PG-13, through March 20) - Ty Burr![]()
