Oh brother
The New Adventures of Old Christine
9:30 p.m., Channel 4
The show belongs to Julia Louis-Dreyfus, but her supporting cast is pretty special, too. I've admired the way Hamish Linklater has developed his character, Christine's brother Matthew, into a comically hangdog figure who has spent a little too much time living with a narcissist. Tonight, he goes to therapy.

Scrubs
10 p.m., Comedy Central
Because John Ritter plays J.D.'s dad.

My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad
8 p.m., Channel 7
Because I want to use the phrase "American Dadiators" again.

Gossip Girl
8 p.m., Channel 25
Because I'm counting the days until new episodes return.

OH BARBARA
The Royal Family
8 p.m., Channel 5
Barbara Walters gets down to some hard-nosed reporting. No tabloid news figure, she. Tonight, Walters looks at the past year in the lives of the British royals, made with the cooperation of Queen Elizabeth, Prince William, and Prince Harry. Of course, she won't even mention Diana - our Barbara's just too tasteful for that. Mmm-hmm.

My Brilliant Career
9 p.m., IFC
Because Judy Davis is queen of the universe.

A Dry White Season
8 p.m., Flix
Because Brando did it for free.

ON DEMAND
Stargate
Comcast
A throwback to those heady days when studios reasoned that if they threw enough money on screen you wouldn't notice how ridiculous the movie was. Kurt Russell and James Spader pass from archaeological dig to outer space, where they find Jaye Davidson ruling over a sort of alien ancient Egypt. Snazzy special effects and a determination to steal only the best Hollywood cliches make this campy, clunky fun. (PG-13; runs through March 31)
