Back at last
How I Met Your Mother
8:30 p.m., Channel 4
The sitcom is back with new episodes, as Ted and Barney celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Which pleases me intensely. Here’s what doesn't please me intensely: The guest-starring visit by Britney Spears that will be in the third new episode in two weeks. I really don't want to be thinking about what Spears is doing to her children, or what our culture is doing to Spears, while watching my favorite traditional comedy. I don't want to be thinking about real mental institutions and Barney’s "hot-crazy scale" at the same time.

High School Confidential
10 p.m., WE
"Bring It On," actually.

America's Prom Queen
9 p.m., ABC Family
"Carrie," really.

Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew
8 p.m., VH1
"One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," virtually.

SHALL WE DANCE?
Dancing With the Stars
8 p.m., Channel 5
The series returns for its sixth season, with a new cast of dancers. Most notably, Marlee Matlin, who is deaf, will shake it up with the help of strong vibrations and her dance partner, Fabian Sanchez. Steve Guttenberg, Shannon Elizabeth, Penn Jillette, Adam Carolla, Kristi Yamaguchi, Jason Taylor, Marissa Jaret Winokur, and Priscilla Presley and her plastic face are among the other competitors.

The Bachelor
9:30 p.m., Channel 5
"The Bachelor," truly.

High School Reunion
9 and 10 p.m., TV Land
"Romy and Michele's High School Reunion," in reality.

ON DEMAND
Multiplicity
Comcast
This comedy is a showcase for Michael Keaton with a simple and appealing premise. He's too busy to be worker, husband (of Andie MacDowell) and dad, so he has himself cloned - and then has to deal with the pitfalls and the personality differences among his replicants, a challenge that shows off Keaton's acting skills. (PG-13; runs through March 31)
