This show is so formulaic on the face of it - "Sex and the City" girls unite to fight crime - that I really want to hate it. But I don't. Maybe it's Angie Harmon (left) who saves it for me; "Law and Order" was never the same without her.

"Shawshank Redemption" writer-director Frank Darabont goes back to prison with Stephen King and scores again with an involving story about supernatural happenings shaking up the grisly routine on a Louisiana prison death row in 1935. Tom Hanks's humane guard reacts with increasing awe to Michael Clarke Duncan's saintly giant, whom Hanks just can't believe is a killer. (R; runs through May 12) ![]()
