Pistol whipping, kidnapping, murder, greed, steroids. . . . This new series starts out on the right foot, with a true tale of violence and extortion. Mark Ebner hosts the hour, in which the knuckle-headed owners of a Miami gym try to extort cash from a client. Look for interviews and re-creations of the crime.

Cliffhanger
Sylvester Stallone makes a comeback playing Rambo in the mountains, fighting skyjackers as a forest ranger. The Italian Alps, playing the Colorado Rockies, are dizzyingly and dazzlingly photographed, and Renny Harlin's direction is assured as Sly endlessly clambers up icy cliff faces in a T-shirt. Full of visceral jolts and unwitting self-parody, it's more entertaining than it has any right to be. (R; runs through July 8)
