-- The Retail Industry Leaders Association spent $360,000 in the second quarter to lobby on family leave insurance and other issues, according to a recent disclosure report.

The Arlington, Va.-based trade group -- whose members include Wal-Mart Stores Inc., The Home Depot Inc. and Target Corp. -- also lobbied the federal government on legislation involving health matters, law enforcement, forced labor, taxation and issues related to the transition to digital TV.

In the April-June period, the Retail Industry Leaders Association lobbied Congress, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the departments of Health and Human Services, Labor, Justice and Commerce, the Federal Trade Commission, Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., Federal Bureau of Investigation and the National Security Council, according to the report filed July 21 with the House clerk's office.
