ON DEMAND
Curse of the Golden Flower
Comcast, Encore Zhang Yimou's new movie looks as ravishing as his other two martial-arts epics, "Hero" and "House of Flying Daggers." This one stars Chow Yun-Fat as a 10th-century emperor and Gong Li (above, center) as the wife he's poisoning. In this vapid spectacular, everything is gorgeous-looking, but the hugeness of the emotions makes it all feel counterfeit. In Mandarin, with subtitles. (R; runs through Sept. 4) - Wesley Morris
