Gym Teacher: The Movie
8 p.m., Nickelodeon
I like Christopher Meloni, and I will always remember his brave performance as Keller on "Oz." But he's gotten overwrought on "Law & Order: SVU," and I'm glad to see him take on light comedy tonight. He plays a middle-school sports coach desperate to win a teacher-of-the-year award. The movie was directed by Paul Dinello, who wrote "Strangers With Candy" with Amy Sedaris and Stephen Colbert. Sedaris costars as the school principal.

Woody Allen lovingly shapes a contemporary "Alice in Wonderland" for Mia Farrow. It's beguiling fluff, comic jabberwocky with a keen eye for the absurdities of Manhattan lifestyles. (PG-13; runs through Sept. 18)
