Gym Teacher: The Movie
8 p.m., NickelodeonI like Christopher Meloni, and I will always remember his brave performance as Keller on "Oz." But he's gotten overwrought on "Law & Order: SVU," and I'm glad to see him take on light comedy tonight. He plays a middle-school sports coach desperate to win a teacher-of-the-year award. The movie was directed by Paul Dinello, who wrote "Strangers With Candy" with Amy Sedaris and Stephen Colbert. Sedaris costars as the school principal.

Alice
Woody Allen lovingly shapes a contemporary "Alice in Wonderland" for Mia Farrow. It's beguiling fluff, comic jabberwocky with a keen eye for the absurdities of Manhattan lifestyles. (PG-13; runs through Sept. 18)
