SLATER SPEAKS
Inside the Actors Studio
7 p.m., Bravo
The series returns tonight with James Lipton talking to Christian Slater. Let's hope Slater makes more sense than his crummy new series, "My Own Worst Enemy," which premieres on NBC tonight at 10. Let's also hope Bravo isn't going to continue being so shameless about using this series to promote its sister network, NBC.

Secrets of Body Language
9 p.m., History Channel
Analyzing nonverbal communication. (Thumbs up).

Heroes
9 p.m., Channel 7
The show that blew it. (Finger-thumb "L" on forehead.)

Gossip Girl
8 p.m., Channel 56
The gang spends a weekend at Yale. (Shot-drinking and toke gestures.)

GO SHELDON
The Big Bang Theory
8 p.m., Channel 4
I still think this series is pretty dumb. But I am a loyal fan of Sara Gilbert; she's a master of the down beat. And I find Jim Parsons quite mesmerizing as Sheldon Cooper. He's a robotic neurotic. Hands down, he's the Poindexter of our time.

Celebrity Expose
8 p.m., MyNetworkTV
Richest stars. (Nostrils flared like something smells bad.)

Section 60: Arlington National Cemetery
9 p.m., HBO
Reserved for soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. (Tear.)

ON DEMAND
Blood Diamond
Comcast, MAX on Demand
The latest advocacy-entertainment movie exposes the global trade in "conflict diamonds" by casting Djimon Hounsou as a Sierra Leone fisherman caught in the country's civil war, Leonardo DiCaprio as an ex-mercenary jewel smuggler, and Jennifer Connelly as an idealistic reporter. The movie wears its conscience and its Hollywood calculation on its sleeve - it wants to rouse you to action while narcotizing you with Connelly's bottomless green eyes. (R; runs through Oct. 15) - Ty Burr
