Barbara Walters Special - Patrick Swayze: The Truth

10 p.m., Channel 5

I'll probably want to cry, but then I won't because Barbara Walters

will want me to. Tonight Walters talks to Patrick Swayze about his life with pancreatic cancer. There's a promotional angle, too: Swayze's new cop drama, "The Beast," premieres Jan. 15 on A&E. The Walters interview is set at Swayze's California ranch and will feature his wife, Lisa Niemi.

The People's Choice Awards 9 p.m., Channel 4

Warning: You may have to see Jennifer Aniston if you watch "The People's Choice Awards." If you've vowed to live in an Aniston-free zone for 2009, you should keep your remote in hand. This year, Queen Latifah (above) hosts the gala that names fan favorites in TV, movies, and music. Carrie Underwood will perform.
