Will Ferrell hosts the finale of what has been a big year for "Saturday Night Live." This 34th season saw the departure of Amy Poehler, the return of Tina Fey a number of times as Sarah Palin, and the full emergence of Kristen Wiig as the show's great hope. Green Day is the musical guest tonight.
MADtv 11 p.m., Channel 25
After 14 years, this sketch comedy series comes to an end. No, it never dominated "SNL," at least in terms of ratings, influence, career-making ability, and catchphrases. But "MADtv" and its pop-culture parodies were a sometimes hysterical alternative that gave work to a few excellent comics, including Michael McDonald, Nicole Sullivan, Artie Lang, Mo Collins, and Nicole Parker.
