American Idol 8 p.m., Channel 25

Often, the two last "Idol" finalists represent quite divergent styles of music and audiences. I'm thinking of Carrie Underwood and Bo Bice, Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken, David Cook and David Archuleta, and Fantasia Barrino and Diana DeGarmo. And this season's final two are particularly contrasting, with Kris Allen (left) as the safe, jeans-wearing heartthrob and Adam Lambert (right) as the risk-taking rocker with eyeliner. Tonight, the winner is announced.

Criminal Minds 9 p.m., Channel 4

An agent's life is in peril! Yup, it's the two-hour season finale of a series that continued to perform really well for CBS during its fourth year. Tonight's serial killer is picking prostitutes, junkies, and homeless people off the streets of Detroit and bringing them to Canada.
