Plastic Fantastic Brain 8 p.m., Discovery Health

This two-hour documentary profiles people who have profound brain abilities and disabilities. There's a woman who, despite having half of her brain removed, can still walk, see, talk, and speak three different languages. There's a guy who has hyperthymesia, which enables (or curses) him to remember every day of his life since he was 11. And there's a triathlete who, after a car accident, cannot remember anything from his pre-accident life.

Real Time With Bill Maher 10 p.m., HBO

Among tonight's guests, look for D.L. Hughley. He is the comedian and actor ("Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip") who had his own CNN series, "D.L. Hughley Breaks the News," for about five months. He's a perfect guest for Maher, in that he's no stranger to controversial statements.
