To use a phrase coined by Gomer Pyle when he was told to call like an owl, “Hootie who, Hootie who?’’ Darius Rucker is officially still a member of Hootie and the Blowfish, but he has struck out on his own in a big way courtesy of a hit album of country songs. Tonight, Rucker performs for and takes questions from a live audience.

The Chopping Block 8 p.m., Channel 7

This reality show, about contestants trying to start a restaurant, premiered in March and got pulled after three episodes because of extremely low ratings. But NBC brought it back last month to burn off the remaining five episodes, which makes me wonder just how desperate NBC really is. In tonight’s hour, someone screws up one of host Marco Pierre White’s recipes.
