TWILIGHT
(Comcast Movies and Events) The movie version of the mega selling teen-vampire romance novel is a juicy piece of pop moviemaking, swoony, funny, and compelling. Kristen Stewart is good as human Bella, but Robert Pattinson (above, with Stewart) turns Edward Cullen into a forceful rebel without a pulse. Director Catherine Hardwicke knows this turf and digs in. (PG-13; runs through Aug. 31) TY BURR

ROLE MODELS
(Comcast Movies and Events) Two grown-up losers mentor two young losers in a Big Brother program, part of their court-mandated community service. David Wain’s scruffy, anti-everything comedy is remarkable for the way it mines the comedy of defeated expectations. (R; runs through Aug. 31) TY BURR

SEVEN POUNDS
(Comcast Movies and Events) Will Smith plays a man on an altruistic mission in this exasperating puzzler about - oh, who knows. Smith is a miserable IRS agent who wants to improve people’s lives. But when he suffers through the ponderousness in this film, so do we all. With Rosario Dawson and Woody Harrelson. (PG-13; runs through Sept. 1) WESLEY MORRIS
