Great American Road Trip 8 p.m., Channel 7
This NBC summer-filler series doesn’t exactly summon the ghost of Jack Kerouac. Seven families travel across the United States, compete in various challenges, and visit landmarks such as the Grand Canyon and the Washington Monument. Basically, it’s a summer-vacation take on “The Amazing Race,’’ and it’s hosted by comedian Reno Collier.
10 Things I Hate About You 8 p.m., ABC Family
The 1999 teen flick starring Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles, which was loosely based on Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew,’’ gets the series treatment beginning tonight. About two very different sisters played by Lindsey Shaw and Meaghan Martin, the show features Ethan Peck in the Ledger role. Peck is the grandson of Gregory Peck.
