BLUE SKY
(Comcast Free Movies) Now here’s a nuclear family: Tommy Lee Jones is the US Army major and atomic scientist, circa 1962; Jessica Lange is the sexually wayward, manic-depressive wife and mother. Their dysfunction and the disinformation it requires are all too neatly interwoven with the duck-and-cover history of the A-bomb years. Juicy performances mark this final film by director Tony Richardson. (PG-13; runs through Aug. 4)

ROCKY III
(Comcast Free Movies) Writer-director-star Sylvester Stallone’s trilogy comes to an end with this film which has some surprising feints and moves for a project so straitjacketed by predictability. (PG; runs through July 31)

THE LAST SAMURAI
(Comcast Movies and Events) Big, square, and rousing. Edward Zwick’s historical epic about a burned-out American soldier (Tom Cruise) who regains his humanity helping a rebellious samurai in 1876 Japan is a class act with a shallow core. Incredible to look at, the film sweeps you into another era with maximum artistry and few surprises. Ken Watanabe cuts a charismatic figure as the title character, and if Cruise still plays himself, he’s getting much better at it. (R; runs through July 31) TY BURR
