Who the #$&% is Jackson Pollack? 7:45 p.m. Sundance Channel

Long-haul trucker Teri Horton (above) bought a $5 painting at a thrift store to cheer up an ailing friend. They later agreed it was ugly and tried to sell it at a garage sale, only to be told by a browsing art teacher that it resembled Jackson Pollack’s work. Former “60 Minutes’’ producer Harry Moses’s 2006 chronicle of Horton’s efforts to authenticate the painting is chock-a-block with snooty museum directors, shady art dealers, and the 72-year-old, foul-mouthed lady trucker. That’s entertainment.

That Thing You Do! 10 p.m. Fox Movie Channel

Tom Hanks wrote, directed, and starred in this cinematic love letter to early ’60s pop culture, told through the eyes of the clean-scrubbed young musicians in the fictional band the Wonders. The excellent cast features Steve Zahn, Johnathon Schaech, Tom Everett Scott, and Liv Tyler (with uncredited cameos from a host of cool kids including Jonathan Demme and Chris Isaak). The flick is as shiny and bubbly and irresistible as the tunes. Pictured: Tyler and Schaech.
