STARSHIP TROOPERS
(Comcast Free Movies) All the visceral impact you could hope for - all the viscera, too. Paul Verhoeven finds the four prettiest kids in a future fascist military dictatorship, suits them up, and ships them out to zap a bunch of giant bugs. Pictured: Casper Van Dien. (R; runs through Aug. 11)

STEPHEN KING’S SLEEPWALKERS
(Comcast Free Movies) The special effects are truly magical, as the mother and son title characters change from human form to catlike monsters, but writer Stephen King and director Nick Garris load the film down with so much goony comedy that it takes away from the movie’s fright factor. Alice Krige, though, gives an amazing performance, poignant and scary, as the mother sleepwalker. Brian Krause plays the son and Madchen Amick is the virginal prey. (R; runs through Aug. 11)

CAT PEOPLE
(Encore on Comcast) Paul Schrader’s erotic horror film is neither sexy nor frightening. Except for Nastassia Kinski’s feline performance, this mix of intellectual pretension and obvious imagery is certainly not the cat’s meow. (R; runs through Aug. 13)
