NOTORIOUS
(Comcast Movies and Events) An enjoyably ridiculous repackaging of the Notorious B.I.G.’s hard-knock life and premature death into a work about a pursy young man (Jamal Woolard) with mysterious sex appeal who turns the rap world on its ear. Derek Luke is Puff Daddy; Anthony Mackie is Tupac. (R; runs through Oct. 25) WESLEY MORRIS

THE LITTLE VAMPIRE
(Encore on Comcast) Charming take on a displaced American kid living abroad, befriending a vampire his own age. Jonathan Lipnicki, who brought baby-owl cuteness to “Jerry Maguire,’’ animates this one, and Rollo Weeks brings lots of anemic dash to his new-fanged friend who longs to be human. (PG; runs through Oct. 8)

THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL
(Comcast Movies and Events) The 1951 sci-fi classic gets a needless remake. Keanu Reeves plays the alien Klaatu (from the Planet of One Facial Expression, apparently) who arrives bearing dire eco-warnings for humanity. The original did more emotionally with less digitally. With Jennifer Connelly. (PG-13; runs through Oct. 25) TY BURR
