(Comcast Movies and Events) Does the world really need another cheesy ’70s TV show updated into an “ironic’’ big-screen buddy comedy? No, but Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller put it over as painlessly as possible while coasting on personas they’ve established elsewhere. Stiller is uptight Bay City cop Starsky, Wilson is his stoner-dude partner Hutch, and rapper Snoop Dogg steals the movie right out from under them as pimp/snitch Huggy Bear. BEVERLY HILLS COP
(Comcast Movies and Events) Detroit cop Eddie Murphy grosses out cool, blond Beverly Hills when a buddy is murdered. More cop caper than comedy, but there are lots of funny set pieces (like the old banana-in-the-exhaust trick) to go with the bullets. (R; runs through Aug. 12)

POLICE ACADEMY
(Comcast Movies and Events) A legitimate heir to “Animal House’’ that’s totally without redeeming social value and very, very funny. (R; runs through Aug. 12)
