Neil Diamond - Hot August Night: NYC 8 p.m., Channel 4

The drama! The cracklin’ voice! The eyebrows! The bedazzled outfit! So 40 years ago there was this concert, and it lasted three days, defined an entire generation, and changed the world forever, and everyone over 50 was there, or knows someone who was there, or knows someone who knows someone who was there. This two-hour documentary, directed by Barbara Kopple, will celebrate the anniversary and explore the festival’s relevance today.
