Hung 9:30 p.m., HBO

This week’s episode makes me feel better about the series, which has been good but underwhelming since its June premiere. The lead characters, the oddball team of Ray and Tanya, begin to take on a little added depth. Ray is falling for Gemma, one of his customers, who is likely going to break his heart. Gemma is played by Natalie Zea, who was Karen on “Dirty Sexy Money.’’ And Tanya - the best character on the show - confronts her writer’s block, and her oppressively intellectual mother, played by Rhea Perlman.

Project Runway 10 p.m., Lifetime

Will this series, famous for its catfights and melodramas, change its tone now that it’s no longer on Bravo? The Lifetime version of “Project Runway’’ premieres tonight, and it will feature Tim Gunn, Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, and Michael Kors, as always. But will it be nicer and less hip? The premiere will be preceded by “Project Runway: All-Star Challenge,’’ at 8, a two-hour contest featuring eight past designers (and a guest visit by Nicole Kidman).
