FlashForward 8 p.m., Channel 5
We all want to live forever, but vampire stories certainly make that fantasy look less than pleasant. And we’d all like to see the future, but “FlashForward’’ is about to put a grim warning sticker on that wish. The world has a collective blackout, during which people see themselves months later. Much psychological and sci-fi angst ensue. ABC hopes this show will fill in the supernatural-mystery gap after “Lost’’ ends next year, and it has cast “Lost’’ actors Dominic Monaghan (Charlie) and Sonya Walger (Penny) to that end.
Grey’s Anatomy 9 p.m., Channel 5

But the series returns tonight with the much-publicized death of George and the hospital’s reaction. Tonight’s guest patient is played by Martha Plimpton.
