Many fans feared that, with the onslaught of the nightly “The Jay Leno Show,’’ NBC would no longer have room for this oldie. But you can relax now. The pacifier of crime dramas is back for another season, its 20th. Tonight, the murder of a veteran may have something to do with torture in Iraq.
Ghost Whisperer 8 p.m., Channel 4
At the end of last season, Melinda was pregnant. Now, it seems, she has a little boy who has inherited her eyes, her cheeks, oh yeah, and her wild supernatural ability to see spirits. Look for a ghostly double whammy beginning tonight, as “Medium,’’ which moved from NBC to CBS, follows “Ghost Whisperer’’ on the lineup, at 9.
