Darwin’s Darkest Hour 8 p.m., Channel 2

Desmond on “Lost’’ is doing some time-traveling tonight. This docudramatic episode of “Nova’’ stars Henry Ian Cusick as Charles Darwin in 19th-century puffy shirts. The story begins with Darwin competing with another scholar to break the whole-theory-of-evolution thing. Maybe you’ve heard of it. Frances O’Connor, who was so good as Fanny in the movie “Mansfield Park’’ in 1999, stars as Darwin’s wife.

Parking Wars 10 p.m., A&E

Vicarious misery rocks. There’s nothing quite as much fun as watching other people in other cities having all kinds of car-related nightmares. While the Booted Ones spend all day retrieving their cars and paying their tickets and hating on city employees, we can sit back with our remotes and relax. Tonight, the series starts up another season, and moves from Philadelphia to Detroit.
