SCREAM
(Starz on Comcast) Wes Craven’s nasty, clever splatterfest steals outrageously from “Halloween’’ as it sends a psychopathic predator through a bunch of high school kids who should know how to handle it - considering their genre expertise - but mostly wind up dead. Pictured: Drew Barrymore. (R; runs through Nov. 5)

TANK GIRL
(MAX on Comcast) Post-apocalyptic grunge goes mainstream in an appealing way as Lori Petty’s scrappy heroine rumbles across the desert in biker boots and a rehabbed tank, fighting evil Malcolm McDowell. (R; runs through Nov. 5)

A KNIGHT’S TALE
(HBO on Comcast) It will, it will rock you - if you can let your hair down enough to allow it to. This screenful of pseudo-medieval popcorn, set to a classic-rock score, hits a high enough level of goofy fun to carry it past its blatant marketing strategy aimed at the MTV demographic. A young Heath Ledger proves he can carry a movie on horseback as a minion posing as a knight, jousting his way to 14th-century rock-star status. (PG-13; runs through Nov. 9)
