PRETTY IN PINK
(Comcast Movies and Events) Rich kid Andrew McCarthy asks working-class Molly Ringwald to the prom. But will he back out under peer pressure? That’s the crux of this mostly appealing outing, which has plastic moments, but also makes contact with believable feelings. (PG-13; runs through Nov. 13)

REVENGE OF THE NERDS
(Comcast Movies and Events) Gross but funny, this is the first of the “Animal House’’ spinoffs worth anything. Robert Carradine and Anthony Edwards are surprisingly endearing as the unlovely buddies who turn out to be macho nerds, especially when they laugh like barking seals and rout a fraternity of bullying jocks who have sweat socks where their brains should be. (R; runs through Nov. 13)

RISKY BUSINESS
(Comcast Movies and Events) A teenage suburban boy (a young Tom Cruise) gets caught up in some fast company and turns the suburban home of his vacationing parents into a brothel. Larry Brickman’s directorial debut shuttles between slickness and a fresh, nervous edge. (R; runs through Nov. 13)
