Grey’s Anatomy 9 p.m., Channel 5

It has been interesting watching “The Wire’’ cast show up - and, alas, not show up - on other TV series. A partial list of those we’ve seen includes Sonja Sohn (Kima) on “Brothers & Sisters,’’ Seth Gilliam (Carver) on “Law & Order: Criminal Intent,’’ Michael K. Williams (Omar) on “The Philanthropist,’’ Tristan Wilds (Michael) on “90210,’’ Clarke Peters (Lester) and John Doman (Rawls) on “Damages,’’ Jamie Hector (Marlo) on “Heroes,’’ and Idris Elba (Stringer) on “The Office.’’ Tonight, Frankie Faison (Burrell) shows up on “Grey’s Anatomy,’’ as Miranda Bailey’s disapproving father.

Project Runway 10 p.m., Lifetime

The show’s first round on Lifetime wraps tonight. The ratings for the season started strong, but have dropped to a level below those of the final season on Bravo. Is the formula played out? Is Lifetime the wrong venue? Or was it just a boring season, heavy with unexciting designers? Online, a lot of fans are pointing to the latter reason. Maybe it’s time to shake things up with an international edition.

Vampire Diaries 8 p.m., Channel 56

Dear Diary, Sookie, Sookie, Sookie.

Mars: Making the new Earth 9 p.m., National Geographic

The blue marble is so last aeon.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation 9 p.m., Channel 4

Murder strikes a bowling alley.

Family Armor 10 p.m., TLC

A bulletproofing business. Just in time for the holidays.

FlashForward 8 p.m., Channel 5

I saw myself watching “FlashForward.’’
