AFI Life Achievement Award Honoring Mike Nichols 9 p.m., TV Land

Like all directors, he has made a few unnotable movies (“Regarding Henry,’’ “Wolf’’). But the highlights of Mike Nichols’s career are extraordinary, including “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf,’’ “The Graduate,’’ “Carnal Knowledge,’’ “Silkwood,’’ and “Angels in America.’’ Tom Hanks, Cher, Meryl Streep (pictured, with Nichols), and Julia Roberts are among those in the house during tonight’s special honoring the 78-year-old director.

Hung Tomorrow at 10 p.m., HBO

This odd comedy returns for a second season tomorrow night, followed at 10:30 by the seventh-season premiere of “Entourage.’’ I can’t say the premiere is auspicious — it feels as if the writers and producers still aren’t sure what to do with their setup, after wandering aimlessly last season. Thomas Jane plays a divorced high school teacher who becomes an escort to make money to keep his son and daughter in his life. The not-engaging story line has him still in love with his ex-wife, while pushy Lenore and loyal Tanya compete to be his pimp.

Dinocroc vs. Supergator 9 p.m., Syfy

Better luck next time, Kongodile.

Ellen’s Somewhat Special Special Tomorrow at 9 p.m., TBS

It’s not an illusion. She is everywhere at all times.

True Blood Tomorrow at 9 p.m., HBO

Pam forever. Literally.
