THE DUKES OF HAZZARD
(Comcast Movies: All Movies) In this sleepy movie version of the old CBS show, Seann William Scott and Johnny Knoxville drive from pileup to pileup as Bo and Luke Duke, but the movie has no idea what the jokes are. With Burt Reynolds, Willie Nelson, and Jessica Simpson, whose cheeky music video for the movie has all the charisma that is criminally missing from the film. (Comcast Movies: All Movies) Tired of talking about what’s wrong with young black America, Bill Cosby has decided to take his famous cartoon gang out of mothballs and co-write a well-meaning live-action movie that celebrates what’s right about it. It’s a bland time for sure, but the clothes are cheerful. And pity the parent and small-child combo (of any race) that doesn’t appreciate the movie’s toasty message of high self-esteem.
