Beast Hunter 9 and 10 p.m., National Geographic

Another week, another telegenic science guy with a new cable docu-series. This time, it’s biologist Pat Spain, and he is searching for mythical creatures in the wild. He’ll travel to exotic areas, talk to locals about their eyewitness accounts, and interpret the anecdotal and scientific data. First up, Spain goes to the jungles of Sumatra to verify the existence of an ape-like animal that walks like a human. The locals call it the “Orang Pendek,’’ or the little man of the forest. I call it Charlie Sheen.

The NAACP Image Awards 8 p.m., Channel 25

I haven’t had enough of awards shows this year. I’m really hankering for more back-patting action. Tonight’s show honors people of color in the arts — in TV, movies, music, and literature. Wayne Brady and Holly Robinson Peete host, with special honors going to retired general Colin Powell and Surgeon General Regina Benjamin.

The Walking Dead marathon 8 p.m.-3 a.m., AMC

The entire first season. It’s a metaphor for Charlie.

Supernanny 8 p.m., Channel 5

Jo is a goddess, too.

Clambake 8 p.m., TCM

Elvis, whose addictions did not include Charlie Sheen.
