CAPITALISM: A LOVE STORY (Comcast Movies: All Movies) Michael Moore goes after the entire US economic system. His documentary is long on damning stories of helpless families and officials profiting from the abuse of their power. But in creating this air of unstoppable cosmic economic oppression, he makes us seem a little more helpless than we actually are. (R; runs through Nov. 10) WESLEY MORRIS

GROWN UPS (Starz on Comcast) It doesn’t try very hard for its laughs. Adam Sandler asked some of his funny friends - Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade, and Rob Schneider - to hang out with him for the time necessary to shoot this movie about childhood friends (and former preteen basketball champions) reunited for a weekend of family-friendly nonsense at a lake house. The women - Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello, and Joyce Van Patten - are more naturally funny than the men. (PG-13; runs through Dec. 15) WESLEY MORRIS

THE OTHER GUYS (Starz on Comcast) Mark Wahlberg and his bare torso pilfered a few scenes in “Date Night’’; now he can be seen stuffing an entire movie down his pants. This buddy-cop satire sticks him with Will Ferrell, and what seems like another desperate adventure in stunt casting turns out to be a combustible comic bounty. As detectives trying to solve a case involving a crooked billionaire they take turns letting the other lose control. (PG-13; runs through Jan. 12)
