WFNX-FM (101.7) has lost its morning man. Dustin “Fletcher’’ Matthews, who’s been the morning host for four years and has also served as WFNX’s assistant program director, has taken a job in Richmond, Va., where he worked years ago. He’ll be the program director at Clear Channel rock station, 102.1 The X. Clear Channel issued a press release this week in which Fletcher explains, “I’ve spent four amazing years at the legendary ’FNX here in Boston, but now it’s time to take my Papelbon jersey back down south for a new challenge.’’ Fletcher gave his two-weeks notice, and will be replaced by part-timer D-Tension while the station looks for a new breakfast person. Of course, we had to ask Fletcher how his sidekick, newsman Henry Santoro, is coping with the move. “He’s bummed,’’ Fletcher told us by text, adding that he’s always believed that Santoro is a grown-up version of himself.![]()
