(500) DAYS OF SUMMER (Max on Comcast) A gimmicky little romantic comedy with enough charm to get by. It’s your basic boy (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) meets girl (Zooey Deschanel), boy loses girl, boy tries to get girl back again, but director Marc Webb shuffles the scenes out of sequence with sweetness, glib wit, and an awareness of the hero’s passivity. (PG-13; runs through Sept. 8) TY BURR

GET HIM TO THE GREEK (Max on Comcast) A record-label flunky (Jonah Hill) has to get a wastrel rock star (Russell Brand) from London to LA through a minefield of groupies and pharmaceuticals. Predictable in its outlines but scurrilously amusing in the details, this Judd Apatow production is good rude fun before going soft in the clinch. Surprise: Sean “P. Diddy’’ Combs steals it. (R; runs through Sept. 8)

BOTTLE ROCKET (Starz on Comcast) A sweet little comedy of inertia that’s surprisingly engaging considering it isn’t quite sure what it wants to be or where it wants to go as it tracks three inept buddies through the outskirts of Dallas while they search for love, family, and a reputation as significant criminals. If you can tolerate the slack here, they might charm you. (R; runs through June 22)
