CHICAGO (Encore on Comcast) This shaky but ultimately electric film of the Kander-Ebb musical tells the tale of two Jazz Age murderesses (Renée Zellweger, Catherine Zeta-Jones) vying for fame. Smartly, director Rob Marshall turns the movie into a psychological case study on Zellweger’s vamp; cheaply, he makes most of the songs fantasies. But the entire cast, including Richard Gere, is great - these stars are rabid for their close-ups. (PG-13; runs through Nov 24) WESLEY MORRIS

EVERYTHING MUST GO (Comcast Movies: All Movies) A minor-key suburban parable based (very loosely) on a Raymond Carver short story, Dan Rush’s debut film is sweet but slack, despite having a nearly foolproof setup: A man unloads his life in a yard sale. Will Ferrell gives a too-timid dramatic performance in the lead. Rebecca Hall and Laura Dern also appear. (R; runs through Nov. 8) TY BURR

THE ACCIDENTAL TOURIST (Encore on Comcast) Totally winning romantic comedy based on Anne Tyler’s joyous novel about a repressed travel writer whose idea of travel is to pretend he never left home and the determined dog-obedience trainer who opens him up. William Hurt and Geena Davis enhance the quirkily eccentric corner of Baltimore where their mating dance unfolds. (PG; runs through Dec. 17)
