CHARLIE’S ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE
(Max on Comcast) This sequel to the rocking-good 2000 hit strives to be more of a total movie. This time, the girls - Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, and Lucy Liu - are on the hunt for a pair of rings that contain the profiles of every member of the witness-protection program. In their way is villainess Demi Moore, who’s as gorgeous and humorless as ever. (PG-13; runs through Oct. 6) - WESLEY MORRIS

SLING BLADE
(Showtime on Comcast) An American classic about a mildly retarded, pure-hearted man sent back to his rural Arkansas hometown after 25 years in an asylum for the criminally insane. You won’t be able to take your eyes off Billy Bob Thornton’s protagonist, putting a life together with painful deliberateness, untouched by the dread we feel. Thornton, who also wrote and directed, puts the South on the screen in this memorable piece of boondocks gothic with a rightness few have matched. (R; runs through Oct. 4)

CAN’T HARDLY WAIT
(Max on Comcast) A breezy summer flick, meant for seasonally school-free teens. An earnest suitor (Ethan Embry) works up his courage to deliver a love letter to the prom queen (Jennifer Love Hewitt) who ignored him for four years. (PG-13; runs through Oct. 6)
