History of the World in Two Hours 9 p.m., History Channel
By the way, this has nothing to do with Terrence Malick’s “The Tree of Life.’’ It’s a documentary survey of the biggest moments from over a dozen billion years, from the Big Bang to the first primates to the invention of the steam engine. Also included: dinosaurs and Silicon Valley. Maybe the producers, who also made “Life After People,’’ will make an edited app version - “The History of the World in Two Minutes.’’
100 Greatest Songs of the 00s 10 p.m., VH1
The five-night countdown has its penultimate episode tonight at 10, after repeats of the first three episodes beginning at 7. Of course, “greatest’’ is relative, and I’m guessing many of you don’t have the same tastes as the folks at VH1, who’ve given us “Celebrity Rehab’’ and “Mob Wives.’’ This is a very radio-pop-centric list, so don’t be expecting Arcade Fire and Radiohead. Think Jason Mraz, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, and, yes, Miley Cyrus.
