ROBIN HOOD

(Max on Comcast) Until a misguided epic climax, Ridley Scott’s re-imagining of the classic tale is a brawny popcorn movie turned out with professionalism and gusto. What the film and its star, Russell Crowe, lack in Errol Flynn-style panache they almost make up for in grit and sheer muscle. With Cate Blanchett as an elegant, if bloody-minded, Maid Marion. (PG-13; runs through Nov. 10) TY BURR

TRESPASS

(Comcast Movies: All Movies) Country boys William Sadler and Bill Paxton search for a cache of stolen gold artifacts buried in an abandoned factory in East St. Louis, and unexpectedly meet up with a crime gang led by Ice T and Ice Cube. Fast-paced editing, much suspense, and good performances. (R; runs through Oct. 31)

DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN

(Max on Comcast) The hip, kicky successor to “Diva’’ and “Repo Man.’’ Stars Rosanna Arquette and Madonna as two girls who just wanna have fun, and do, exchanging identities and nearly getting themselves killed in the SoHo loft and club scene. (PG-13; runs through Nov. 10)
