Few changes on the CBS fall schedule

Posted by Suzanne Ryan May 17, 2006 10:59 AM

With CBS set to win the 2005/2006 television season with the most viewers, it's no surprise that the network doesn't plan to make many changes to its schedule next year.

Today, it announced that 18 series will return. There will be just three new dramas and one new comedy in the 2006/2007 season.

"The Class" is a comedy by David Crane ("Friends")and Jeffrey Klarik ("Mad About You"). It features a group of 20-somethings who were in the same third-grade class. Now 20 years later, their lives are intersecting again.

"Smith" is a drama starring Ray Liotta as a crook who executes high-risk heists.

"Jericho" is the tale of a small Kansas town that falls apart when a nuclear mushroom cloud appears on the horizon and all contact with the outside world is cut off.

"Shark" is a drama about a ruthless defense attorney who decides to redeem himself and become a prosecutor.

"The New Adventures of Old Christine" is coming back, proving that the "Seinfeld" curse is officially broken.

And in a real turn of events, it appears that "Yes, Dear" -- that sitcom that is the subject of many jokes -- is finally gone.

Since most of the cast was from New England, I won't say anything.
