Posted by Suzanne Ryan September 25, 2006 04:46 PM

This has been quite a year for the Disney Channel. Its original film "High School Musical" -- which debuted in January -- broke all kinds of records in this country. Now the film is making waves in the United Kingdom.

The premiere of the movie last Friday (four telecasts in one day) delivered more than one million viewers, setting an all-time record for any program on the Disney Channel UK.

The soundtrack, which was released last week, is now the no. 2 selling album on the iTunes music store and the no. 3 selling album on amazon.com.uk

The Hindi version of the film premieres Friday on Disney Channel India. Stay tuned.
