"Dexter" on Ice

No spoilers here; just vague and probably slightly insane conjecture.

So we finally learned the identity of the Ice Truck Killer on last night's "Dexter." Interesting, yes. But I'm still not convinced that the person who appears to be behind it all is really the person behind it all. Perhaps the person we now think is behind it all is just a lackey for the true person behind it all? I'm hoping there's another twist coming in the last four episodes.

Anyhow, I do think "Dexter" continues to be a superior crime show -- I don't think I've said that before, heh -- even though it has given up some of its stylized glory lately. The hard-boiled affect seems to be fading away, along with some of the intimate voiceover. But not the humor, as clever Dexter got a few free sessions of therapy last night before offing the murdering therapist...

"Dexter" has also proven that Lauren Velez can really act. She never quite worked for me as Dr. Nathan on "Oz," perhaps because the role forced her into some preposterous situations. But she's formidable as Lt. LaGuerta on "Dexter," and her attraction to our favorite serial killer is sweet.
