39.9 million people watched the Oscars

The numbers are in. Nielsen is reporting that the Academy Awards was the most watched entertainment program this season, besting the Emmy's (16.2 million) and the Grammy's (20.1 million).

Last year, an average of 38.9 million people watched the Oscars.

Here's an interesting number: Nielsen said 87.03 million people watched at least ONE MINUTE of last night's telecast.

I wonder what advertisers pay for that.
