J.J. Abrams to direct "Star Trek XI"

Posted by Suzanne Ryan February 26, 2007 04:29 PM

I've reported the possibility before. But Friday night, the co-creator and executive produce of "Lost" and director of "Mission Impossible III" made it official, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Star Trek XI (can you believe there have been that many?) will follow a young James T. Kirk and Mr. Spock after they first meet at Starfleet Academy.

Imagine the study sessions, the frat parties! Just kidding. I do think it will be great.

Granted, I'm a bit of a fanatic. I actually bought a Star Trek uniform for Halloween last year but my husband convinced me to return it. I went as a pirate instead.

Anyway, yea for Star Trek!
