'Heroes:' Sleep it off

Posted by Joanna Weiss October 22, 2007 11:34 PM

Here's the thing about "Heroes:" It's aimless, clunky, cursed with silly dialogue, and woefully overstocked with characters, but once in awhile it comes up with a really cool idea. Tonight's double-nightmare fight sequence fit the bill, and it was executed perfectly; I loved the editing of the fight scenes as much as I loved the concept of Matt's father's power. Though I'm still confused about what this has to do with evolution.

All I know is that, for tonight, it was enough to make me overlook my perpetual "Heroes" pet peeves, such as the dizzying roster of new characters and the general lack of effort on establishing locations. (Was that New Orleans or, um, East L.A.?) Wow me once an episode, and I give up. I'm in. But do me a favor, "Heroes:" more Sylar, less Peter. Please.
