Debbie Downer Needs Work

New York magazine has a little interview with Rachel Dratch that I find a tad troubling. Dratch, originally from the Boston area, is best known for her 1999-2006 work on "Saturday Night Live." She was supposed to be on "30 Rock," first as a central character and then as a recurring guest; but the "30 Rock" gig didn't pan out and now she's got time on her hands.
“I know you’re supposed to come up with fake stuff you’re doing," she tells the magazine. "But honestly, I’m not doing much.... It’s starting to get old. I’m starting to go crazy. I’m ready for a job.”
What? Dratch is too funny to be looking for work. She ought to be totally busy, right? I don't know, maybe she is exaggerating to New York magazine for effect. A quick visit to her IMDB listing could lead one to believe that she is actually quite caught up in movie projects. I'm hoping that's the case, but if not, somebody get her a show soon.
