Emmys: Notes from the Hollywood elite

Posted by Joanna Weiss September 21, 2008 07:12 PM

First political statement of the night comes from Howie Mandel: "We are on Sarah Palin's bridge to nowhere." Maybe this opening was vaguely unscripted, but you know he's been practicing that one for awhile.

I also have high political hopes for my dual heroines, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. So far, nothing! C'mon, not even a wee bit of Palin impression from Tina? To hold us over until she makes it onto SNL again?

My disappointment continues. Neil Patrick Harris does not get his statuette. Jeremy Piven wins again. Not that I have anything against Piven, but...sigh.
